Science Fiction TV Dinner: Black Mirror

Black Mirror brings the breathtaking aesthetics, dystopian fervor, bracing social commentary, and eerie prescience of The Twilight Zone to the age of iPhones, Snapchat, and Snowden.

The first season episode “Fifteen Million Merits” is an incisive cautionary tale about a future shaped by gamification, reality TV voyeurism, class exploitation, and the ever-narrowing window for authentic political dissent in an age of mediated entertainment spectacle.

Join us for a screening and conversation with Alex Halavais, associate professor of social technologies in ASU’s School of Social and Behavioral Sciences and author of the book Search Engine Society, and Jason Scott, assistant professor in ASU’s School of Film, Dance and Theatre and a film publicist with credits including The Crow and Dazed and Confused.

We’ll have free dinner available for the first 150 guests. RSVP Now!
