Us in Flux: Conversations—Ray Mwihaki and Christopher Rowe [Video—Past Event]

Event Details

In this conversation, we’ll chat with fiction author and poet Ray Mwihaki, about her short story “Even God Has a Place Called Home,” and Christopher Rowe, author of the acclaimed story collection, Telling the Map, as well as a middle grade series, the Supernormal Sleuthing Service, co-written with his wife, author Gwenda Bond.

Us in Flux is a new series of short stories and virtual gatherings that explore themes of community, collaboration, and collective imagination in response to transformative events. Every other Thursday, we’ll publish a new, original piece of flash fiction, and then host an interactive chat with the author and a special guest the following Monday at 4:00 pm Eastern.

About the Speakers

Ray Mwihaki is a puzzle to herself and many others. She finds joy in words, wax, colour, nature and a wide-eyed little one who is always looking for ways to make her smile. When she isn’t writing, you’ll probably find her on a farm somewhere trying to make Frankenstein mint varieties. One day, she will be successful. That day isn’t too far off.

Christopher Rowe has been a finalist for the Hugo, Nebula, World Fantasy and Theodore Sturgeon Awards. His stories have been frequently reprinted, translated into a half-dozen languages around the world, and praised by the New York Times Book Review.
