History of the Future: Ghostbusters

Event Details

Join ASU’s Center for Science and the Imagination in partnership with Majestic Neighborhood Cinema in Tempe to view Ghostbusters (1984) on the silver screen. This screening is part of a greater film series: History of the Future, exploring gripping, cinematic visions of the future across the past five decades.

Join us on Wednesday, September 24th at 7 pm and experience the chicanery that comes from parapsychologists out of work with Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) and Dr. Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) as the streets of New York City feel the flicks of the phantasmal.

Before the film, enjoy a discussion with Jenna Hanchey, a senior global futures scholar and assistant professor at the Hugh Downs School of Human Communication. Hanchey is also the author of The Center Cannot Hold: Decolonial Possibility in the Collapse of a Tanzanian NGO and the award-winning Africanfuturism: Beyond Development.

Tickets are $8.00, plus applicable taxes and service charges. A limited number of free tickets for ASU students are available on a first-come, first-served basis, courtesy of your Imaginary Friends at CSI.
