This weekend ASU’s School of Film, Dance and Theatre and School of Earth and Space Exploration present A Brief Anniversary of Time, a one-man show celebrating the 25th anniversary of Stephen Hawking’s revolutionary book A Brief History of Time.
A Brief Anniversary of Time is written, directed and performed by ASU associate professor Lance Gharavi. The performance will be held in the Marston Exploration Theater, a planetarium in ASU’s ISTB4 building on the Tempe campus, and will incorporate 3D media and sound through the use of the theater’s state-of-the-art stereoscopic projection system. The show tells the story of three generations – grandfather, father and son – and ponders human questions of life, loss and time, juxtaposed against the vast spacescape of Hawking’s work.
Tickets can be purchased at ASU’s Herberger Institute Online Box Office. There will be three performances: Friday, Oct 18 at 7:30pm, Saturday, Oct 19 at 7:30pm and Sunday, Oct 20 at 2:00pm.
