Aleks Romano is a human-centered designer, eternal reimaginer, and incurable bookworm. Embodying the literary tradition of Octavia E. Butler and Ursula K. LeGuin, Aleks creates experiential learning workshops that challenge our idea of what is possible, reintroducing us to our own power in creating the world collaboratively. Her work seeks to redefine what it means to be an empathetic leader and everyday human, combining private sector business practices with public sector sensibilities via design thinking, world-building for social policy, and dialogue methodologies. Aleks is currently in her first year as an MA/MBA student in Design Leadership with an emphasis in intercultural communications at Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business and Maryland Institute College of Art. She is a facilitator in Sustained Dialogue techniques as well as a decades-long music educator. Incorporating her background as an internationally recognized opera singer, she makes every effort to imbue day to day work with the same joy and imagination as a night at the theater.
