David J. Staley is an Associate Professor of History, with courtesy appointments in the Department of Design and the Department of Educational Studies at The Ohio State University. He is the author of Alternative Universities: Speculative Design for Innovation in Higher Education, and is a higher education strategy consultant with Dutcher, LLC. He was recently named an Honorary Faculty Fellow in Innovation at the Center for Higher Ed Leadership and Innovative Practice (CHELIP) at Bay Path University. He also writes frequently on foresight and futuring, including his monthly futures column “Next.” From 2004-2012 he worked with clients as a strategic foresight management consultant. He is the author of Brain, Mind and Internet: A Deep History and Future; History and Future: Using Historical Thinking to Imagine the Future, and Historical Imagination. He is the host of the “Voices of Excellence in the Arts and Sciences” podcast, and host of CreativeMornings Columbus.
