Science Fiction TV Dinner: The X-Files

When we think of The X-Files, we think of sprawling government conspiracies, eerie UFO sightings, cigarette-smoking men, and the compelling dynamic between the smoldering, occasionally unhinged Fox Mulder and the doggedly rational, ever-skeptical Dana Scully. But did you know that Mulder and Scully once met Frankenstein’s creature?

In the fifth season episode “The Post-Modern Prometheus” (presented in tasteful black-and-white cinematography), our intrepid investigators encounter rogue genetic engineers, comic book characters, irresponsible creators, and angry mobs.

Join us for a screening and conversation with Dave Guston, founding director of the School for the Future of Innovation and Society and co-director of ASU’s Frankenstein Bicentennial Project, and Rae Ostman, associate research professor at the School for the Future of Innovation in Society.

We’ll have free dinner available for the first 150 guests.

Location: Need help finding the Marston Exploration Theater? Here’s a map.

Parking: Parking can be challenging on ASU’s Tempe campus. We recommend that you use the Metro Light Rail to travel to the event, disembarking at the University Drive and Rural Road station. You can also use the Valley Metro bus system. If you’d like to explore options for visitor parking on campus, please visit the ASU Parking and Transit website.

Seating: Seating is first come, first served, and your RSVP does not guarantee a seat. So please arrive early, or at least on time!
