Center for Science and the Imagination Fellows

Climate Imagination Fellowship

The Climate Imagination Fellowship brings together top science fiction authors with community members, researchers, and changemakers from around the world to create visions of positive climate futures shaped by concerted action in the face of crisis and grounded in real science. These visions will honor local particularities and insist upon equity and justice, while imagining efforts that could be scaled up for global change. Presented in partnership with TED Countdown, the UN High-Level Climate Champions, the ClimateWorks Foundation, and others.

Applied Imagination Fellows

Our Applied Imagination Fellows work on projects to motivate transformative change, advance visions of inclusive futures, and explore how imagination is practiced by individuals and communities. Their future-oriented efforts span the worlds of film and media, urban ecology, public art, community organizing, sustainable finance, and speculative fiction.

ASU-Leonardo Fellows

In 2020, we partnered with ASU-Leonardo to host a cohort of three fellows who explored experimental art-science innovation practices and created projects that imagined a regenerative, vibrant global future for all, building on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. These projects, which blended artistic methods with fields including data science, Indigenous knowledge systems, and circular economy, modeled new ways that art-science approaches can advance resilience, justice, cooperation, and trust.

Imaginary College Fellows

The Imaginary College is a group of outstanding creative thinkers, researchers, practitioners, and mad geniuses that represents one of the core missions of the Center for Science and the Imagination: to seek out intelligent life wherever it resides in the universe, and to get it on our side. Through the Imaginary College, we partner with and celebrate the individuals and groups who are already advancing our mission of fresh, creative and ambitious thinking about the future.
